more or less about the psychological effects of isolation and rocky emotional regulation. the corruption of the narrator, the loss of innocence, and the desperate self serving acts that can come from that, hence why the album goes from cheery acoustics to melancholic psych pop and rock to lo-fi metal.
I had started writing this album prior to the 2020 pandemic, and hadn't finished it out until late 2020. I had truly gotten into the character by this point, almost like a double life. I was living the character's isolation in some way near the end. I would sit and write the later tracks and question my own intentions and think "I'm just writing an exaggerated version of myself, how is this any different from how I think and feel?" and I truly hope someone listens to this thing and goes through the same self actualizing feelings I had gone through writing it. non-empathetic types won't get it and that's perfectly fine with me, as it's not for them anyways.
made this as something you sit and put on and listen the whole way through. shuffling the songs is great but it takes away from my true intention of this album, which is you listening to someone completely lose their mind as a spectator, unable to help, unable to reassure,
this is not a happy album and it's not supposed to be, and I love that.
