Dissent by Ben Huff

This is the second half of my dual EP project Ascent/Dissent. Mostly recorded on a Zoom H5 in the woods of Pennsylvania, I wanted to push the boundaries of what I thought was possible with solo alto saxophone. I dove deep into the intricacies of post production with effects, including delay, reverb, overdrive, and pitch modulators. I also experimented with saxophone technique itself, including microtonal fingerings and multiphonics. These are all things I will continue to experiment with, and I look forward to utilizing them in an ensemble setting.
