No one is born into this world alone
We arrive with our fear and we give it a home
We go through our lives
With our fear as our guide
We must learn when to listen
And when to improvise

But sometimes there’s a calling to cease all our stalling
Tell fear thanks but no thanks

There’s a tiny bit
Of a flutter in the pit
Of my stomach

That I really should be
Starting to flee
I know it’s not easy

‘Cos it can appear
Everybody here
Has mastered their fear
But it’s just a veneer
They’re all terrified
Shaking inside
But it’s alright
‘Cos you can decide
When it’s time to

Be brave
Even though you’re afraid
You know that some days
You’ve got to be brave

You want to be

Where
There are people who care
With courage to spare
Who don’t know that you’re scared
Out of your skin
Don’t let worry win
When it creeps in
Tell it to get in the bin
’Cos I don’t know why we hide
Our feelings inside
Even tough guys
Need a little cry
Now and then
It’s not the end
Fear is a friend
On which we depend
But now we’ve got to
Be brave…

Society
Would like you to be
Shy and uneasy
Ideally preferred
A girl of few words
Seen and not heard
But that’s absurd!
Just try to
Be brave…

Some people may hate you
And manipulate you
Think your fear as how they
Can get their own way
So take a few chances
Don’t let circumstances
Dictate how your fate
Tells you how to behave
