we exist in relation to others, and this album is about the others in whose shadow I've become who I am. it is timely for me as so many friends are ... well not making it, yet some are. my closest friend made it through cancer, my oldest friend is still battling, my dearest friend's husband didn't make it, another very dear friend died unexpectedly while we were having lunch together this month. each track is about someone important to me: the diamond points in my life - even though some the points were sharper and more damaging than others. but if I had not known them I would not have been who I am
