The ensemble goes in for another round of Mediterranean-inspired belters, this time with two stunning sundown burners from Residentes Balearicos, the supremely talented denizens of the white isle who have been crafting up expansive dancefloor landscapes since early 2020. In the short time they have been together, the Venice-born, Ibiza-based duo have put out super balearic feels on Music For Dreams, Archipelago Records and Shades of Sound, as well as contributing a fantastic remix to our very own Painting Of The Day EP by Max Essa.

The Simplemente Cachonda EP is the latest in their illustrious discography, bringing two supreme productions to the table conjured from the loftiest heights of balearic bliss. Essential listening!

SIMPLEMENTE is on the search for that classic sun-drenched, late-nite balearic feel - and finds it perfectly in the elusive sweet spot that many seem to sail past. A coruscating ode to an uncomplicated life, where haunted strings criss-cross with steady, drum circle percussions and spellbound vocal samples. A boat careering off into uncharted waters, as aquatic moonlight illuminates the ripples and waves left by a stomping, thunderous beat - simply, simplemente - a slow-burner, a decadent dancefloor number for the most adventurous of selectors.

CACHONDA takes you deep sea diving in crystalline mediterranean waters, a revelation, an epiphany, where wood blocks and baroque mallets strike moonshot melodies amidst that suitably life-affirming refrain - cachonda! She is your mistress, your balearic lover; a temptress of sorts, passionate, fervent, and she spins and twists in sumptuous fluctuations with the ease of an arrrrriba at midnight. A future balearic classic if we’ve ever heard one ;)

In an ideal world we would be putting this out on vinyl, but the pressing plants are backed up like crazy and we just couldn’t sit on this any longer. So here it is, two dreamy, digital morsels by Residentes Balearicos which will certainly be soundtracking our summer.
