Two years in the making NED KELLY is a 15 track compact disc of original instrumental music written by Ashley Davies. NED KELLY is performed by some of Australia’s top musicians – among them, guitarists Jeff Lang, James Lee and Matt Walker; Jen Anderson (Black Sorrows, Weddings Parties Anything) and Adam Gare (Paul Kelly, Uncle Bill) on violins and Glen Romanis (aboriginal artist and didjeridoo). It is accompanied by a 32 page illustrated colour booklet with 15 texts as written by Ian Jones – Australia’s foremost Ned Kelly Historian.
NED KELLY presents the life and times of Ned Kelly in a form which is both emotionally engaging and historically accurate. The music and stories transport the reader/listener to the key moments in the life of Ned Kelly, working together to produce a powerfully emotional experience. Among those events – Ned’s teenage years, his mother’s incarceration, the gang’s bank robberies, the last stand at Glenrowan and the court proceedings.
