Casual Crypt by Aquatic Miniature
Casual Crypt's rare debut features the genre hoping and exploration that would later lead toward his more electronic leanings. Early CC showcases an array of sounds. From the Spacemen 3 influenced pulsating lo-fi drone of "Hers" to the post- punk angularity of Similar Cat. The record was James' first attempt at recording a record of this kind. Originally intended as just a fun recording exercise, Casual Crypt has since evolved into a cohesive electronic pop and ambient and nestled into his original sound. If you'd like to hear what it sounds like for someone to lay out all the possibilities their music could take before they settled, this is a great listen.
