По дорозі до... (demo) by a noend of mine

«По дорозі до…» ("On the Way to...") is anom's first demo, self-released in April 2008.

Les Vynogradov (credited "Oles 'Lem' Scherback" as an homage to his grandfather, Mykola Szczerbak), then 18 years old, teamed up with Oleksandra "Feia" Gorska and Pavlo "Ozzy" Zozulya, members of a defunct Kyiv art-punk band Зіниці Оз, to work on Les's acoustic prog-leaning material under the a noend of mine moniker. The lineup spent a few months rehearsing and recording the two-track demo and disbanded soon after its completion. A couple of CD-Rs were printed and gifted to friends, and the demo was online on the band's MySpace for a few years until Les decided to shelve anom indefinitely.

«По дорозі до…» is an early attempt at ideas that would later be explored and expanded on The Serenity's Eve. The first track, життя.2, contains multiple parts that made it to anom's debut album. Curiously, it also features a section that ended up on the track NOE by Vin de Mia Trix (https://vindemiatrix.bandcamp.com/track/noe). The second track, пісня.2, took on stylistic avenues that Les ultimately abandoned, though some of the vibes persisted in VdMT and anom records that followed.

Recorded mostly in a friend's bedroom and mixed in FruityLoops by said friend's little brother, «По дорозі до…» is naive, imperfect, and terribly rushed. Yet, it is anom's only release with live drums to date. It was also recorded after being thoroughly rehearsed with a full band—a luxury anom hasn't known ever since. All of this makes this demo an improbable yet essential stepping stone in the evolution of a noend of mine.
