Life is like great big bin
You struggle to cram everything in
Some of its waste – some you regret
Some you could dust down and use again but you don’t
No!

Life is like a massive skip
Of which I struggle to maintain authorship
Sometimes I want to throw it all away
Then I change my mind and decide it must stay

Sometimes it really gets me down
Sometimes it really gets me down

Life is like a rubbish dump
Or maybe I’m a misanthropic grump
I’m old enough now to relinquish blame
I realise no two lives are the same

They say one man’s rubbish is another man’s treasure
What doesn’t give you joy could give somebody else pleasure

Life is like a great big bin
I wait till the coast’s clear and I jump right in
Beneath the regrets there must be hope
Or do I have to whip out my microscope?
