'Oumuamua by Anecdata
The first release from the planned next album from Anecdata, 'Vita Brevis', which is still in production at the time of this release.
'Oumuamua - the song - was written in January/February 2025 and recorded/mixed between then and June 2025.
It emerged from a two chord guitar riff that for months, was used as a template for testing out different guitar and drum sounds. Somehow it eventually transformed into... whatever this is.
It has a slow start, yes, but that will make a lot more sense in the context of the album it's going to be on. If you're impatient, everything kicks off around the 34-second mark!
The album 'Vita Brevis' is still being worked on. It is a concept album (or song cycle / rock opera / insert pretentious description here) about a woman sent on a bizarre time-travelling journey after being scanned by a passing alien probe at a New Year's Eve party in 1999.
And yes, that's where 'Oumuamua comes in...
