Amnesian by Amnesian

Check out the latest Amnesian album. This band's demo was one of the first I ever reviewed back when this page was but a baby. They always found a great way to wring some unique sounds out of the grindcore formula and continue to do so here with some seriously dark melodocism that veers between Black Metal and Technical death. THe musicianship has vastly improved as well. These guys always seems to end their albums with a slow, epic banger and this one is no exception with the trilogy of "Banished" leading into "No Haven Left" into "Sin-Eater". A lot of grind bands close their albums with slower songs but few add the appropriate layers of grandiosity to really make a powerful closing chapter. This band adds eerie and haunting melodic lines to really have these type of songs leave a memorable, dark impression.
