i bought myself a brand new kite today
but it won't fly
it's not windy enough to fly a kite
it's like i threw all the money i spent in the air
and it flew away
just like a kite

told my mother i'd clean my room today
but that was just a lie
i'm gonna spend that time
in my room cryin' about a kite
cry noise?

oh how i wish that kite would fly
i'd have kite flying parties all the time
if only that kite would fly

i spent it all on a kite
and i wish i spent it all on a nice tattoo or car
i cried on the way to school
or on the way to the bus stop
and i don't know the waaaaay 'cause it's been sooo long
you must have told me
