Fraktal Gedanken by American Astro Monkey Project

Recorded live on the 27th March 2023, as a further developmental step. An additional new sound source in the mix was the Dreadbox Erebus.

The title came about after producing the album cover imagery using Chaoscope – 3D strange attractor rendering software. The English translation of the title for me is Fractal Thinking or Fractal Thoughts.

Quoting from “The Profound Nature of Fractals” by Richard Taylor… “the past fifty years have seen a remarkable revolution in the way we study nature’s scenery, which has brought scientific inquiry and artistic views of nature closer together. At the heart of this revolution lies the discovery of intricate patterns called fractals. Dramatically referred to by many as the fingerprint of life, fractals have been shown to be the basic building block of many of nature’s patterns, ranging from clouds, trees, and mountains through to our brains, blood vessels, and lungs”.

Then consider Berlin School music, with its repeating musical patterns and how those patterns interact which each other. And then in turn interact with our minds!

Headphones are recommended for appreciating the full soundscape with all the tonal nuances.
