Small Figurines... by Henry Keith

I found something today,
It made my soul clinch,
Two bodies holding one another,
Carved out of silvery maple,
The two bodies,
from one piece,
Of beautiful wood,
Can't recreate it, if I would.

Small figurines....
Embracing one another,
Fault is unseen....
They are in love with each other,
Lessons to be learned,
Can easily be seen here,
Within these small...
Figurines..

I carved this from scrap,
I cried while pulling the knife,
Day dreamed of a story,
Where these two figures were one life,
I tried to share it with you,
The story of a love so true,
But you were busy,
With real life problems,
I wouldn't retell it, even if I could

Oh these small figurines,
Placing them into a rotating plate,
They dance and swirl together,
And they know and love their fate,
Dancing with one another,
As the years pass by,
They are living,
Full of love,
Full of joy,
Eternally locked to one another,
In what was offered to you,
This life,
amongst the few,
that love eternally,
But was denied.
