Codependency can manifest in a lot of ways. For me in stems from my childhood and younger self ~ feeling abandoned, misunderstood and unseen for decades as I stayed hidden behind my pre-trans mask. I have historically latched onto people I love or make me feel safe, often to a fault, which always ends up pushing them away.
My codependency comes from a soft, gentle place. A place of need for reassurance, consistency, and to be seen as I am, even when what I am is someone who just needs to be held and told they are beautiful, and told they are loved.
