Lyrics
The first artifacts were found in Ethiopia and date back to 1.7 million years ago. The beautiful black stone also known as Volcanic Glass can be made transparent in a variety of colors including turquoise, seaweed green, and smokey gray. Its formation is through the process of quickly cooling lava, turning hot motion into cold crystal. I find it interesting that in ancient times it was mostly used for making weapons and mirrors, a tool for fighting and reflecting. Psychics and shamans from around the world have also used Obsidian for millennia both as talismans to absorb and transform negative energy as well as a tool for grounding while in the midst of intensive soul healing-shadow work.
Ever since I was a child, Obsidian has been intimidating in its fierceness. Every time I touch it, the stone zaps me from within like the sound of Thunder. There is always a release to follow however which keeps me coming back. Like pink noise and brown noise combined (frequency spectra 20 Hz-20,000 Hz).. Spirit dancing alongside you while streaking in the rain.. The sound of your lover's heartbeat while they are sleeping.. The way moonlight remixes the ground when shooting through a canopy of trees.. 60 bpm.. Dark chocolate and pomegranate.. Purple.. I invite you to get into it and see what Obsidian pulls out of you, it will most likely be both terrifying and beautiful, happy and sad, vivid and blinding.
