SLASH is a rhythm guitar album. Named after my mentor Bernie Hannon's term for the style in which I play - thin pick, palm muting, and plenty of drive - this album is a joyous exploration of the different ways that one accompanist's style can interact with a wide variety of musicians and styles. Recorded in the spring and summer of 2022, Slash contains twenty duets with some of the best melody players the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

Alex Sturbaum is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, based in Olympia, Washington. They perform solo as well as with Countercurrent, Gallimaufry, and the Waxwings, and produce the Vashon Sessions.
