This digital release is a reissue and a synthesis of two recordings that have not been available on the market for some time. Mozart's recordings (Sonata in D major KV 576 and Rondo in A minor KV 511) date back to 1990. Followed and approved by maestro Paul Badura-Skoda with whom I was studying at that time, they are my first recordings on CD. The second part of this album is dated 2003. Commissioned by the Paduan publisher Armelin and published with the title "Promenade" under the label Rivoalto, it contains a collection of piano transcriptions by the guitarist and composer Angelo Boschian. It is an unusual repertoire (Dowland, Bach, Haydn, Ponce and Villa-Lobos) drawn mainly from original works for lute and guitar.
Alessandro Cesaro began to study music very early showing interest in composition. He completed piano studies with F. Angeleri at Padua’s Conservatory where he graduated with top marks and special mention when he was 16. He attended classes with Badura-Skoda and Ciccolini. He was awarded in several National and International Competitions: Premio Venezia and Yamaha Prize and the 48th CIEM Geneva.
