Theobroma from Theobroma by A Flying Hat
El nombre del track es un juego de significados. “Theobroma” significa “bebida de los dioses'' y es el nombre que se le dió al fruto del cacao que era una bebida exclusiva de divinidades para los antiguos aztecas.
Me remito a ello por un fragmento de una conversación que quedó registrada en los toques que semanalmente hacíamos con el “Ensamble Urbano” allá en el 2007. Ya que pedir cacao en nuestro lenguaje coloquial y moderno es pedir misericordia y lo único que no da misericordia es el tiempo que, para mi, es el verdadero alimento de los dioses.
El track representa los tres estados de la percepción del tiempo:
el pasado que nos puede hacer sentir melancólicos o satisfechos,
el presente que debemos disfrutar y es lo único seguro que tenemos
y el futuro que es incierto.
¡Los dioses se alimentan del tiempo!
Para este track, los sonidos de las baterías fueron sampleados por mi hijo Oscar Jr y el dibujo de fondo fue hecho por mi hija Lina.

The name of the track is a game of meanings. "Theobroma" means "drink of the gods" and is the name that was given to the cocoa fruit that was an exclusive drink of divinities for the ancient Aztecs.
I refer to this for a fragment of a conversation that was recorded in the weekly gigs that we made with the “Urban Ensemble” back in 2007. Since asking for cocoa in our colloquial and modern language is asking for mercy and the only thing that does not give mercy it is the time that, for me, is the true food of the gods.
The track represents the three states of the perception of time: the past that can make us feel melancholic or satisfied, the present that we must enjoy and it is the only safe thing we have and the future that is uncertain. The gods feed on time! For this track, the drum sounds were sampled by my son Oscar Jr and the background drawing was done by my daughter Lina.
