"Dreamy and layered, “Fire” is one of those tracks that fills my head with snapshots of melancholy, snowed-in travel montages, like something out of FX’s “The Bear.” The spaced-out vocal performances.. alongside Wheeler’s echoey and shining guitar work, effortlessly interlocks with the grounded rhythm section to create a sense of bittersweet motion. Lyrically, “Fire” is just as poignant. The stark contrast between the tone of the two verses illustrates the complicated feelings that can come from tying up a single person deep into the fabric of your emotional state... Nostalgic and complex, “Fire” is a song that I’ll keep close at hand, either for my chilly morning commutes or those nights where I’m fighting the urge to call my ex." ~Lillith Pernichele from SLUG magazine

"…the video for Fire from A Deeper Heaven sent my nerdy brainbox back in time to recall Zabriskie Point the 1970 movie directed by Michelangelo Antonioni...It’s Antonioni’s vivid use of color and dramatic editing that caused me to think of comparing the video for A Deeper Heaven. .. A Deeper Heaven comes to us via the always reliable Shoredive Records. These folk are making undeniable good music and they are passionate about helping others, they say that any profit from their project will be donated to for the cause of mental health and suicide awareness, support and recovery. They say, “Destroy stigmas, push education, embrace openness, show acceptance and love”. Yes, agreed!" ~Norman Batley with Life Elsewhere

"The opening track and title track starts as a typical song of The Cure, but Marc has a dreamy voice that leans more towards Mark Gardener of Ride . Actually, this song is closest to The Haunted Youth. With Don't Say, A Deeper Heaven leans towards The Pale Saints and Cocteau Twins . While Let Go makes us think of Desire by Editors . But when Wheeler starts singing, it gets a more dreamy vibe and the comparison disappears completely. A Deeper Heaven has everything it takes to deliver something catchy and does so with verve." ~Bart Verlent with Luminous Dash

"...with the release of Don't Say/Let Go, Wheeler showcased his signature style: deep, precise, and soaring vocals, atmospheric, reverberated guitars, and heavy drums in 6/8 time. It continued the same year with the EP "Fire", which reveals an extremely effective and refined pop with accents of The Cure for the bass and The Smiths for the guitars. ...beautiful vocal melodies and shoegaze guitars.
Intoxicating and sophisticated shoegaze."
