I take the freeway every time
But I know that the side streets could offer the shortcut I need
I stay inside the lines
Watching the traffic creep towards exit 23, that drops me off Downtown

Skyscrapers and history, Sidewalks and poverty
I leave my car outside
There’s somebody waiting for me
She lives next to a factory, a factory Downtown
