Yule Father by Adam Soper

Scooping up the vestiges of the past year, old strings are retied like fascistic bundles of straw. Decorations adorn dead trees as a celebration of Odin, the Yule father. Saintly Christians are tricked into following Heathen traditions and, perhaps, Heathens are tricked into Christian practices. But they are both brought together, a temporary synthesis before returning once more to thesis and antithesis. Or Christ and Anti-Christ?

Naked trees resemble the horns of God, and those of Satan (or Saturn then Grimnir, now Santa?).

Hark!!

We squeal as pigs squabbling for their last meal before slaughter then we are reborn once more as the earth completes its cycle.
