we go out and jump
into cold water
we realize we can’t swim
a lot of people are there
they stare at me
and ask me:
where are you from?

Where are you from?
I’m from the land of the eye
Because whatever I say is wrong
We can’t say it right

This question again and again
slowly breaks us
it’s not just a question
