The Social Service was founded in 2005 by Simon Shack, a Swedish musician based in Rome, Italy (and thus celebrated 20 years of activity in 2025). Its current four-piece line-up comprises local musicians Andrea Lilli (guitars), Rick Granito (bass) and Gilbo Ceccarini (drums).
