MANIP was born in West Oakland to a single mother of 7. He grew up in poverty and surrounded by violence, prostitution, drugs. Determine to make it up out the ghetto he acquired the theories and tactics of Huey P. Newton, through his mother and uncles who were members of the Black Panther Party. He watched the black power go from what it was to what it is today.
